The association is headquartered in Metz, France; the city where we have created the association.
Our association (PAPER) aims at promoting projects in line with the ideal of either creating or supporting a fairer society (fair trade for example) and, in order to increase our credibility, it will take care first of our founding members’ projects.
Once our team gathered, we have sought to support people subjected either to career changes or who dropped out of school; through the portfolio process in order to raise the skills of each members.
Where are we now ?
Thanks to our project, we have obtained a place to work currently over our association project) in the “Maison de la Culture et des Loisirs” (MCL) in Metz. The MCL is one of the most important place in the city for cultural exchanges and meetings – a place to meet and speak with the youth and people from everywhere. The place displays art expositions in addition to language lessons.
Our promotional tools will be blogs – we are actually creating:
– ZeSheep Shop, an e-shop which, once created, will be a platform about environmental/ecological awareness, thus we can organize events such as showrooms, after-works and jumble sale.
– PAPER mind, a web magazine which topic will bear upon lifestyle, and assure training courses in social entrepreneurship likewise.
What is the added value of our project ?
I’m myself both a student and an entrepreneur since roughly two years, and particularly interested in a fairer fashion industry: I created my own network of young responsible designers.
The current goal of PAPER is to settle a French-German national service partnership (non-military). Thanks to the favourable geographical location of Moselle – at the German’s borders – within the French territory, it allows easier exchanges/trades with Germany: a country truly concerned about environmental issues. Moreover, the MCL is located nearby a high school; we would like to propose a space to the youth facing difficulties who would like to express their possible hidden potential. My business project is focussed on a concept-store which will allow two co-founding members of PAPER to raise their skills by allowing one to get her diploma in patisserie as a free candidate (she dropped out of school), while combining the project of the second with mine: the creation of an eco-friendly chocolate bar.
Currently, we are supporting the projects of several people: Aida Ndiaye, Alexandre Mirou, Aurélie De Sousa, Brice Nya’abe, Childéric Lebowski, Dimitri Massing, Joris Chamvoux, Julien Wagner, Lauriane Sornette, Léa Barrafranca, Nathaniel Bresson, Samuel Koch and myself, Nathalie Mirou.
PAPER is an association mostly gathering people who faced failures, dropped out of school, and as any human being, they felt the need of something bigger, better, than themselves: being a part of a somehow greater good.
Our association is based on the ideal of gathering our strengths and knowledges to fulfil the dreams of others, our skills to develop training courses in order to show to people that, regardless of their social background, they can all achieve their projects; it is never too late to be ambitious.
The goal is to highlight responsible and eco-friendly designers thus expanding our community of project carriers; to contribute to invent the world of tomorrow, a fairer society, is what we are all about.
